What is Trekpoint?

Trekpoint is a platform dedicated to fans of adventure and active lifestyles. The system allows for the creation and management of interactive outdoor games and events. Through its mobile application, an ordinary walk is transformed into an engaging game filled with riddles and competition, where users can test their skills in real-world spaces.

Challenge

Although the platform had its history and a solid user base, its development had reached a standstill. The primary issue was a fragmented workflow—while the mobile side was managed by trusted individuals, the backend, the system’s core, was handled by an external contractor. The previous developer’s overload meant that even the smallest changes took an incredibly long time to implement. The client felt they were losing control over their own product, and plans for rebranding and new features were constantly being pushed back.

Solution

At 12b.tech, we focused on radically simplifying processes and taking full technical responsibility for the project. Instead of relying on third parties, we brought the entire backend and database infrastructure under our wing. This process began with a major “relocation”—we hosted the homepage on a new server (using WordPress for easier content management by the client) and migrated the Laravel-based route design system. The most critical step was the secure migration of all data from the previous version, ensuring a seamless transition to the new infrastructure without any loss for the users. Simultaneously, we supported the rebranding process, ensuring that the new Trekpoint brand operates on fast and stable foundations.

Results

By centralizing all work within a single team, the Trekpoint project has finally gained momentum. The client no longer worries about if or when their requests will be fulfilled, as updates and new features are now implemented on an ongoing basis. We successfully unlocked the platform’s business potential by introducing a payment module and continuously improving the game design tools. Today, Trekpoint boasts a robust technological foundation that handles events effortlessly and is fully prepared for further dynamic growth.
