What is Bonabanco?

Bonabanco is a Polish fintech dedicated to the transport and logistics (T&L) industry. The company specializes in providing financial solutions, such as factoring, and tools that support payment management for carriers. Their mission is to improve the financial liquidity of transport companies and simplify complex administrative processes. At the heart of their ecosystem is Calypso, a proprietary platform used for managing orders and settlements.

Challenge

Bonabanco’s primary clients are road carriers who fulfill transport orders sourced from external freight exchanges and platforms. The traditional freight settlement process was an operational bottleneck. After completing an order, carriers must upload complete documentation (e.g., CMR waybills) to the system.

Manual verification of these documents by staff was:

  • Time-consuming – it required cross-referencing data from paper documents with information in the Calypso TMS system.
  • Time-constrained – processes only took place during office hours, which delayed payments submitted during weekends or evenings.
  • Prone to error – at a high scale of operations, it was easy to make mistakes in data validation, which blocked the ability to issue quick payouts to drivers.

Solution

To optimize the process, Bonabanco implemented an advanced Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solution. The robot acts as an intelligent link between the carrier’s documentation and the Calypso system.
